January 2023. To review the results of 2022 and present the main milestones and future challenges of the company in the areas of occupational health, safety and the environment, SAAM held an event for HSE leaders in Port Terminals and Logistics.

Representatives of the respective teams from operations in Chile, Mexico, Ecuador and Costa Rica and the corporate areas participated in three sessions focused on the company’s strategies on aspects such as maintenance, optimization, automation, training, sustainability, operations and infrastructure, led directly by SAAM executives.

The Managing Director of SAAM’s Port Terminal Division, Mauricio Carrasco, commented that “this was a good opportunity to share good practices between terminals and use those learnings to better face upcoming challenges.”

Among the activities, HSE leaders visited San Antonio Terminal Internacional (STI) to learn -among other aspects- about the implementation of the +Safety and Environment strategy, whose rollout includes the prevention of high potential incidents, mechanical integrity, operational excellence and discipline, and implementation of ISO 50001 Energy Efficiency. These initiatives were presented directly by terminal executives, and participants attended the workshop on “Port city, environment and governance focus.”
