Santiago, September 8, 2017. For the second straight year, SAAM is among a select list of 27 companies on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index Chile (DJSI Chile), the country’s first sustainability index.

“Being part of this index for the second year in a row demonstrates that the company has chosen the right path in committing to strengthen sustainability as part of our strategy. We want to continue to generate value for all stakeholders, contributing to the integral development of the countries where we operate,” commented SAAM’s CEO, Macario Valdés.

The Dow Jones Sustainability Index was launched in 1999 and is currently one of the most important indicators in the world for measuring leading companies in sustainability. The Chilean version of the index was created in 2015. Of the 63 local companies that applied this year, 27 met the environmental, social and corporate governance standards and requirements and were selected for the index.
