
Santiago, August 1, 2025 | SAAM [SM SAAM] posted earnings of US$ 40 million for the first half of 2025, EBITDA of US$ 100 million (+11%) and revenue of US$ 302 million (+7%).
“The first half of the year showed good progress in revenue, operating results and EBITDA, thanks to contract renewals and increased special services, together with improvements in operational indicators,” summarized CEO Macario Valdés.
In July, SAAM also celebrated the arrival of the first electric tugboat in Latin America, which is already operating in Puerto Chacabuco, and the addition of two new tugboats to the fleet, destined for Chile and Peru. “We are taking a significant step in innovation and sustainability while also strengthening our regional presence,” the executive added.
Results by Business Area
SAAM Towage’s operations were stable during the period, with a variation of -1% compared to the first half of 2024. The decrease in Mexico was offset by higher activity in Canada. Time charter days—associated with dedicated towage services at oil, gas and mining terminals—fell 2%.
Aerosan, meanwhile, recorded a drop in export volumes while imports remained stable. Total tons handled amounted to 221,000.
