The company joined the Cybersecurity Incident Response Team, which brings together 70 companies and seven countries and is spearheaded by the Interior Ministry.

Santiago, April 8, 2021. Today SAAM—provider of port, towage and logistics services—joined CSIRT, the Cybersecurity Incident Response Team promoted by Chile’s Interior Ministry. This initiative’s objective is to exchange information regarding cybersecurity alerts, threats and incidents and cooperate in preventing and detecting cybersecurity incidents.

“Globalization and tech development make cooperation on these issues increasingly important. Accordingly, we at SAAM are convinced that this alliance will enable us to share experiences, have better tools, enhance data protection and efficiently anticipate possible threats beyond the internal work we have been doing for several years now,” remarked the Corporate Chief Information Officer, Claudio Aguilera.

The company took part this afternoon in an online activity with the Undersecretary of the Interior, Juan Francisco Galli; the Head of the Networks and Cybersecurity Division, Carlos Landeros and the Head of the government’s CSIRT Department, Katherina Canales.

Thanks to this initiative, the company will be able to voluntarily exchange information on cybersecurity alerts, threats and incidents; prevent cyber-risks; develop joint cybersecurity projects and cooperate in preventing and detecting cybersecurity incidents in the private sector.

These agreements bring the number of companies participating in CSIRT to over 70. SAAM is the first member from the port-logistics chain. Seven countries are also cooperating with the initiative.
